Choose your beach

  • South of the port, below the promenade

Sand-and-shingle beaches below the palms, a walk from the centre, with cafés and sunbeds all along. Busy in summer, easy for everyone.

  • North-west of the port

Vlora’s original town beach, on the far side of the port from the Lungomare: quieter, with older buildings among newer hotels. A taxi ride from the centre.

  • Uji i Ftohtë

    Coast road south

“Cold Water”, named for the freshwater springs here. Small coves below the road and seafood terraces above them.

  • Radhimë

    Further south

A resort strip of hotels and beach clubs along the bay, quieter than the city and close to Orikum.

  • South end of the bay

A long beach by the marina and the lagoon, at the foot of the Karaburun Peninsula and the road to Llogara.

  • North, by the Narta Lagoon

Sand and dunes on the seaward side of the lagoon, near the monastery islet. Quiet and natural, with few services.

  • By boat only

Wild coves on the marine-park coast — Grama Bay has rock inscriptions left by ancient sailors. Reached on boat trips.

  • Over the Llogara Pass

Where the Albanian Riviera begins: long beaches below the mountains, on the far side of the Llogara Pass.

Sunbeds and prices

Beaches are public. On stretches run with private operators you can rent an umbrella and sunbeds; for the 2026 season the municipality capped those prices at 700 lek, down from up to 2,000 lek the year before, according to the mayor’s statement reported on 1 May 2026. About 15,000 m of beach stays free — part of it with free umbrellas and sunbeds, the rest open for your own towel and umbrella.

The cap applies to the 2026 season; we will check the rules again before summer 2027.

Water and safety

  • Obey lifeguards, warning signs and beach flags, and ask locally about jellyfish and sea urchins (UK advice).
  • In autumn and winter waves can break further out and undertows are stronger; never dive into water you do not know (Canadian advice).
  • UK advice cites a 2023 European Environment Agency finding that a small number of Albanian beaches were affected by inadequate sewage treatment — heed local signs.
  • Hire jet skis and boats only from licensed centres.

When to go

June and September are the sweet spot: warm water, room on the sand. July and August are full and lively. Mornings are calmest; afternoons often bring a sea breeze.

Before you pick a spot, look at the water on the live camera.
