Lungomare city beaches

The beaches along Vlora’s promenade — walkable from the centre, lined with cafés, and the ones you see on the live camera every day.

The Lungomare is Vlora’s waterfront promenade, running south from the port district along a string of city beaches. It is the backdrop of most daytime camera views: the pier, the palms, the Ferris wheel and the hotels behind the sand.

These are convenient rather than wild beaches: sunbed and umbrella concessions in summer, cafés and restaurants within a minute’s walk, and sheltered water on most days. Mornings are quiet; by mid-afternoon in July and August they are full.

This stretch south of the port is often called Plazhi i Ri, the New Beach. The Old Beach (Plazhi i Vjetër) is the other way, north-west beyond the port; further south, the coast road leads to the coves at Uji i Ftohtë.
