Skip to three places to start ↓

Lungomare and the centre

Good for
First visits without a car. Walk to the promenade, the pier, the city beaches, restaurants, the ferry port and the old town.
Keep in mind
Summer evenings are lively and parking is tight. Ask whether a sea-view room faces the promenade’s noise.

Old Beach (north-west of the port)

Good for
A quieter beach base on the other side of the port from the Lungomare, with hotels close to the sand.
Keep in mind
About 2–3 km from the centre — a taxi ride, or a long walk past the port, to the restaurants.

Uji i Ftohtë and the south coast

Good for
Terraces above the coves, then resort beaches at Radhimë and Orikum on the road towards Llogara and the Riviera.
Keep in mind
The further south, the more you rely on a car or taxis to reach the city.

Zvërnec and Narta (north)

Good for
Quiet, nature-first stays near the lagoon, the monastery islet and Zvërnec beach.
Keep in mind
Few services nearby and a car is close to essential.

Three places to start

One hotel in each of three areas, taken from the hotel’s own website and checked on the date shown. We have not stayed in them and do not rate them; nobody paid to be here. Prices and availability are on their sites.

Hotel Vlora International

Editorial

Port end of the Lungomare (Sheshi Isa Boletini, Rruga Çamëria)

A city hotel where the main boulevard meets the Lungomare by the port, with rooms facing the coast or the promenade, an indoor pool and a spa.

Good for
A base without a car: the centre, the Lungomare and the ferry port are all within walking distance.
Keep in mind
A central hotel on a busy junction: choose it for convenience, not for a quiet beach stay.

Not paid to appear. Details from the hotel’s website, checked 17 October 2026. Confirm prices and availability with them.

Sea & Sand Hotel

Editorial

Old Beach, north-west of the port (Rruga Sazani)

A beach hotel a few steps from the Old Beach (Plazhi i Vjetër), with sea-view and family rooms, a restaurant, a garden and free parking.

Good for
A quieter base on the Old Beach side of the city, with the sand a few steps away and parking included.
Keep in mind
It is 2–3 km from the centre and the Lungomare restaurants — expect a taxi in the evening.

Hotel Nimfa

Editorial

South coast road, beyond Uji i Ftohtë

A beachfront hotel on the coast south of Vlora with its own beach, sea-view balconies in most rooms, a restaurant and a beach bar.

Good for
A beach stay where a parasol and two deck-chairs on the hotel beach come with the room, and several rooms are sized for families.
Keep in mind
You need a car or taxis for the city: the hotel puts it about 6 km, or 15 minutes’ drive, from the centre.

Before you book

  • July and August sell out: book early, and read the cancellation terms.
  • Air conditioning matters from June to September. Check it is in the room, not just the listing title.
  • Parking is worth paying for near the Lungomare in summer.
  • “Sea view” can mean a balcony over the promenade (lively) or a glimpse between buildings. Look at the photos and the map together.
  • Beach access: a hotel “on the beach” may run its own sunbeds — the municipality capped operator sunbed prices at 700 lek for 2026 and kept free stretches of beach.
  • Getting there: arriving late from Tirana airport? Ask whether reception is open, or arrange a key box.
