Snorkelling along the Karaburun coast

Clear water, sea caves and rocky coves inside the Karaburun-Sazan marine park, reached on boat trips that build in swim and snorkel stops.

The western side of the bay belongs to the Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park, declared in 2010. Its limestone coast drops straight into the sea, so the water is deep, clear and full of caves and coves — the best snorkelling within reach of Vlora.

You get there by boat: most trips to Karaburun and the Haxhi Ali cave stop to swim, and several listings include snorkel gear. The skipper chooses the stops on the day according to the swell. Calm summer mornings give the clearest water.

It is a protected area: look, don’t touch, and take nothing from the seabed.
