Vlora’s food is the Albanian coast at its simplest: whole grilled fish, fried small fish, mussels and octopus, with the Narta Lagoon and the local salt pans a few kilometres away. The waterfront restaurants along the Lungomare and the harbour side fill at lunch and again late in the evening.
On a hot afternoon or a rainy one, a two-hour lunch is the correct response. Individual restaurant recommendations will follow on the Eat & Drink pages once reviewed; until then, choose busy places near the water and ask what came in today.
